If she has been in the same position for a while, consider whether movement may be beneficial.

Regular Bathroom breaks throughout labor, even if she does not feel a strong urge to go.

A full bladder may contribute to discomfort and can interfere with baby’s descent.

Hydration supports overall well being and endurance during labor requires energy and hydration. Offer small sips of water or approved fluids regularly throughout labor.

Gravity can be a valuable tool during labor.

Encourage upright and gravity-friendly positions when appropriate, such as walking, standing, swaying, kneeling, or using a birth ball.

Position changes often create opportunities for comfort and progress.

Prayer can help bring peace, perspective, and encouragement throughout labor.

Birth is not only physical work.

It can also be a deeply spiritual experience.

Take a moment to pray together, read Scripture, play worship music, or simply invite God’s presence into the room.

Your Words matter.

A simple reminder can go a long way:

• You’re doing well.

• I’m right here.

• I’m proud of you.

• You’re stronger than you think.

• Our baby is getting closer.

Never underestimate the power of encouragement.
